This week we focused on the ins and outs of old English poetry. We looked at many different examples or old English poetry, such as the seafarer, the wandered, the wife's lament, and the pardoner. The one that i liked the most was the Pardoner. it was a poem about a man who was given the power to pardon peoples sins by the catholic church. One would think this man would be a good honest worker. But no, he conned and cheated and lied to make his living. He even admits in the poem to making his living off of the generosity of others. He tells the story that he tells to poor people to get them to give him money.
